Eastman Kodak completes purchase of CREO
Eastman Kodak is expected to be the next big player in the graphics and copier industry.
Last Tuesday, Kodak completed its acquisition of Creo, the graphics communications company known primarily for the front end digital copier solutions that it produces. Kodak purchased all of the assets and operations of Creo for $988 million. Last Wednesday, Creo was delisted from the TSE (Canadian exchange) and NASDAQ after the market's close.
With the Kodak 9110 and Kodak 9150; Kodak is looking for a slice of the high volume, digital copier market. Kodak, Xerox, Canon, and Nexpress are all hoping to capture the fastest growing segment of the copier industry - color copies. Whether the Xerox 6060, Canon CLC 5000, or Nexpress 9110 is the winner will be determined by the market and consumers.
